Investigative journalist &
documentary filmmaker.
My name is Demi, and I am an investigative journalist and documentary filmmaker.
Most recently I worked as a Trainee at BBC Wales, during which I worked as part of the Digital, Radio, TV and Impact team.
I am passionate about highlighting social issues and giving a voice to those who have been unheard in our society thus far. I am also a documentary filmmaker, having made various short documentary films on subjects such as Windrush, Stalking, Inceldom and more. I believe that making media content that is both educational and entertaining is the future of journalism. For me, travelling to new places, listening to different stories and confronting uncomfortable truths is essential for developing a better world.
Through my academic and professional endeavours, I have experience in producing all forms of media, including radio, digital content, video and more.
I am currently seeking freelance journalism assignments, particularly those concerned with social issues, crime and human rights. However, I am always open to exploring new topics and welcome opportunities to work on other projects.
I am young, energetic and inquisitive with a passion for journalism, writing and creating media content that is both informative and engaging. I have an extensive education and am knowledgeable when it comes to ethical journalism and news values.
I understand how important accurate, ethical and informative journalism is to democracy. I have put my theoretical knowledge into practice and gained real-life experience as a journalist and content creator.
